Casa Soleto

A project by Studio Andrew Trotter

Puglia, Italy

Co-designed with Marcelo Martínez

Photography by Salva López

In the quiet landscape of Puglia, where architecture rises directly from the earth, Casa Soleto is built upon a sense of coherence.

Co-designed by Andrew Trotter and Marcelo Martínez, the residence is an exercise in restrained architectural elegance: pure proportions, textured limewashed walls and a palette dominated by deep browns, terracotta tones and clay-like nuances that echo the Puglian landscape.

In this context, the choice of textiles is not decorative. It is structural.

Fibres that belong to the place

Fabrics such as Menorca, 100% linen, and Provence, 100% hemp, find their most natural expression in Casa Soleto.

Menorca, with its authentic texture and organic drape, brings softness and visual lightness without losing presence. Its pure linen, slightly irregular in character, dialogues with the limewashed walls and mineral surfaces, reinforcing the sense of material honesty.

Provence, 100% hemp, with its more structured character and pronounced texture, connects directly with the earth. Hemp, both resilient and noble, introduces a refined rustic dimension that integrates naturally within a project where landscape and local culture take centre stage.

Alongside them, other linens and natural blends in tones of clay, sand and toasted brown complete the chromatic narrative of the space, creating continuity between architecture, furniture and textile.

Absolute coherence

The greatness of Casa Soleto lies in the fact that everything makes sense. Architecture, design, colours and materials all respond to the same intention: to create a space that feels timeless, rooted and authentic.

The selected linens and hemp fabrics are not intended to create contrast, but harmony. Their natural fibres bring warmth, texture and a beauty that deepens with time. They introduce a human dimension that balances the geometric purity of the project.

Here, fabric is not an accessory.
It is part of the architectural language.

In Casa Soleto, the thoughtful choice of Menorca, Provence, and other natural fabrics demonstrates how material - when honest and carefully selected - can elevate architecture through subtlety.

A project where earth, design and fibre speak the same language.
